Dr. Greg Cooper Woodland Park, CO

Doctor Cooper

“I wanted to be a veterinarian since I was in the second grade. Early on, tv shows like Daktari (about a vet in Africa), Lassie, and Flipper were big influences on me. Later, during my high school years, the mentorship of a local veterinarian guided me to realizing my dream.
I moved to Woodland Park, Colorado, from a small rural town in Michigan, after graduating from Michigan State University, College of Veterinary Medicine, in 1982. Accompanying me was my wife Corinne – my high school sweetheart, MSU graduate in elementary education, and best friend. She has lovingly taught many kids from this area for decades, with great dedication. We’ve lived in Woodland Park now for over 35 years, have been blessed with two grown and happily married children – Cody and Kyli, along with numerous pet family members that we have raised here. We continue to enjoy living in and serving the Woodland Park community. I count singing, reading, traveling, creating memories with my family, and making people laugh, as my most valued interests. I’m a man of faith, integrity, honesty, and generosity – these values guide my daily life, and I feel extremely blessed to be able to continue to help and get to know the pets and people of this beautiful area.”
“I was born in Kansas and moved to Woodland Park in 1996. I was the child who brought home every stray animal I came across. I grew up with an assortment of ducks, chickens, rabbits, cats, dogs and pigeons. I like spending time outdoors walking or hiking with my dog Sadie.”

“I was born and raised here in Colorado and have loved animals ever since I can remember. I always saw myself working with animals and little did I know, I would be hired on here at Compassion Animal Hospital back in 2007. I spend the majority of my very limited spare time out in the woods with my daughter and husband. I am also owned by one cat named Max.”

Hannah was born and raised in eastern Colorado on a bird farm, which sparked her love for caring for animals. She grew up with chickens, ducks, turkeys, emu’s, and even a rhea at some point. Her entire life she always wanted to grow up and become a veterinarian. Hannah graduated from PIMA Medical Institute in 2012 with her certificate in Veterinary Assisting. After having her son Jesse, 8, and daughter Aurora, 3, she started her journey to get her associates degree in Veterinary Technology in 2019 at Colorado Academy of Veterinary Technology in Colorado Springs. As she is currently working towards her goal to be a certified Veterinary technician, she enjoys taking her Jeep out on the trails, horseback riding, and enjoying the beautiful mountain we live on.  Hannah started working for Compassion Animal Hospital September of 2021.

Janet – Veterinary Technician

“I was born on Long Island, New York and moved to Colorado Springs in 1973.  I began training as a veterinary technician in 1980 and worked at various veterinary hospitals as well as physician’s offices. We settled in Virginia in 1990 and after seeing the state of our local animal shelter, I founded the Humane Society of Culpeper.  I also started a low cost spay/neuter fund and emergency medical fund for county residents.  In 2001 we moved back to Colorado where my fiance and youngest daughter moved to Florissant. Currently we have a retired bloodhound, five Belgian Sheepdogs and 4 German Shepherds.  I show and breed my Belgian Sheepdogs (Blue Moon Belgian Sheepdogs) and am a trainer specializing in puppy classes and scent-work. I compete in agility, rally, obedience, scent-work, barn hunt, lure coursing and conformation. I look forward to meeting you and helping to care for  your pets.”

“I was born in Minnesota and moved to Colorado in 2020. I grew up with animals and have always loved being around them. In my free time I love spending time with my cat Batman and dog Emma. It has always been a dream of mine to work with the animals and am so thankful to be working here since July 2021. I love it!”

“Hi! My name is Hallie and I am from Willoughby OH. I graduated from Denison University in 2012 with a BS in Biology. After graduation, I moved to Loveland CO with my husband and started working at PetsMart. I loved working with the animals so much, PetsMart sent me to grooming academy in Fort Collins in 2013. I have been grooming ever since!. I have a beautiful daugher named Hadley, my husband Seth, two dogs and a turtle I spend all my free time with. I look forward to meeting you and your animals here at Compassion!“

“My name is Amy and I now live here at Compassion Animal Hospital. No one really knows how old I am but they believe I was born in 2010. I was rescued out of a hoarding situation and moved here in 2013 with my buddy Starski & Sam, who has since passed. I enjoy being an only cat since now I get all the attention and treats for myself. I spend the majority of my time sleeping, eating, and occasionally running down the halls as fast, and as loud, as I can. I love being held and petted, so long you do not touch my tummy, feet or legs. Dr. Cooper has taken good care of me here. Especially since I have an allergy to my own plaque and needed most of my teeth extracted and the occasional steroid shots. I look forward to meeting you and your pet, but please keep your dogs on the other side of the counter.”
