"I wanted to be a veterinarian since I was in the second grade. Early on, tv shows like Daktari (about a vet in Africa), Lassie, and Flipper were big influences on me. Later, during my high school years, the mentorship of a local veterinarian guided me to realizing my dream.
I moved to Woodland Park, Colorado, from a small rural town in Michigan, after graduating from Michigan State University, College of Veterinary Medicine, in 1982. Accompanying me was my wife Corinne - my high school sweetheart, MSU graduate in elementary education, and best friend. She has lovingly taught many kids from this area for decades, with great dedication. We've lived in Woodland Park now for over 35 years, have been blessed with two grown and happily married children - Cody and Kyli, along with numerous pet family members that we have raised here. We continue to enjoy living in and serving the Woodland Park community. I count singing, reading, traveling, creating memories with my family, and making people laugh, as my most valued interests. I'm a man of faith, integrity, honesty, and generosity - these values guide my daily life, and I feel extremely blessed to be able to continue to help and get to know the pets and people of this beautiful area."
Ellen - Receptionist
"I was born in Kansas and moved to Woodland Park in 1996. I was the child who brought home every stray animal I came across. I grew up with an assortment of ducks, chickens, rabbits, cats, dogs and pigeons. I like spending time outdoors walking or hiking with my dog Sadie."
Tara - Our Lead Vet Tech
"I was born and raised here in Colorado and have loved animals ever since I can remember. I always saw myself working with animals and little did I know, I would be hired on here at Compassion Animal Hospital back in 2007. I spend the majority of my very limited spare time out in the woods with my daughter and husband. I am also owned by one cat named Katy."
Arianna - Vet Tech
"I was born and raised here in Colorado with the majority of it on our family ranch. I enjoy horse back riding and spending time outdoors on my free time. My family currently consists of; 4 horses, 2 dogs, 1 cat, 2 rats, a goat, and 20 rabbits. I was hired on here at Compassion Animal Hospital in October of 2017 and am very happy to have a job to come to, which I enjoy."
Cathy - Groomer
"I was born in Kansas and moved here to Colorado when I was 6 yrs old. I always wanted to be a groomer when I was a little girl and then I fell in love with grooming when I was in high school. I have been grooming now for 38 years. I spend the majority of my free time with my two dogs, Sara and Pixie."
Amy - House Cat
"My name is Amy and I now live here at Compassion Animal Hospital. No one really knows how old I am but they believe I was born in 2010. I was rescued out of a hoarding situation and moved here in 2013 with my buddy Starski\Sam, who has since passed. I enjoy being an only cat since now I get all the attention and treats for myself. I spend the majority of my time sleeping, eating, and occasionally running down the halls as fast, and as loud, as I can. I love being held and pet so long you do not touch my tummy, feet or legs. Dr. Cooper has taken good care of me here. Especially since I have an allergy to my own plaque and needed most of my teeth extracted and the occational steroid shots. I look forward to meeting you and your pet, but please keep your dogs on the other side of the counter."
